Aija's Arrived!!!
Born July 3, 2012 @ 1:43pm at American Fork Hospital.
8 lbs 1 oz, 18.5 inches long.
We got to the hospital for our scheduled induction appt at 9:30a.m. I was all hooked up with the IVs by 10am. Epidural about 12:30pm. Birth at 1:43pm. Recovery room at 4pm. Alakea & Kyden came to meet her at 8:30pm, with Grandma Petersen. I had bought a piece of cake and "0" candle. So we had cake and sang Aija "Happy Birth-day" The kids brought Aija some presents. Alakea gave her a teething rag/toy and two binkies and me a card and some pictures she drew. Kyden gave her rattle and Grandma gave her an outfit.
Aija is completly healthy and passed all her newborn screening tests. What a blessing to have a normal, healthy, full-term baby girl.
She is a really good baby. She has brought so much joy to our family already. I love and adore her so much already. She was born knowing how to nurse the very first time. AWESOME! She is so fun to love and take care of. I'm happy everytime I get to spend time with her.
Alakea adores her too. She likes to carry Aija around the house. Aija is a good sport too. Yesterday, Kea carried Aija around during her entire nap time and wasn't bothered a bit. She could hardly wait to show all her neighborhood friends her new baby sister. The porch was one of her places she visited yesterday during the walking nap. Kyden looks and checks in in Aija, but isn't around too much -just as I suspected he would be. Daddy likes her too, of course! He holds her and says, "You're just a Little One. Aren't you?"
It is fun to have a baby in the family again. It's fun to have the big kids experience it too. Alakea said yesterday, "I can't believe we finally have our very own baby sister. We get to keep her for the rest of our lives, right Mom?"
